Raffles University Iskandar

Raffles University Iskandar (RUI) is a multi-faculty and comprehensive university approved by the Malaysian government. Riding on the vast experiences of its parent company, Raffles Education Corporation, the largest private education group in Asia Pacific which manages and operates 33 Colleges and Institutions of Higher Learning in 30 cities across 13 countries in the Asia Pacific region, RUI will be a first of its kind, Asian-based Malaysian university that prides itself as a practice-oriented university with intensive curricula and practical hands-on experiences that give students maximum preparation for future careers. RUI was Established by Raffles Iskandar Sdn. Bhd., a 80%:20% subsidiary owned by Raffles Education Corporation and Education@Iskandar Sdn Bhd. The University was formally approved by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education on 31 October 2011.

Currently operating from its temporary premises at Menara Kotaraya, Jalan Trus, Johor Bahru, RUI will develop a new state-of-the-art campus, on a 65-acre plot of land located in Iskandar Malaysia’s EduCity Zone by 2013. RUI’s strategic location in Iskandar sets the university in a secure and growing state economy with high potential in both economic and cultural development. Students can expect a vibrant and dynamic nurturing learning experience that will see their transformation into world-class professionals.

RUI will be offering comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Product Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Jewellery Design, Fashion Business, Business Administration, Accountancy, Education, Applied Psychology and Information Communication Technology. A Foundation Programme will also be offered. The first cohort of students is expected to commence classes in April/May 2012.
